The best tech-focused conversations I’ve had with CEOs and leadership teams never started with technology. They started with customers. With growth. With ambitions. With the future of the business. Here are some points about how I go about translating digital complexity into boardroom clarity:
It’s important to me to always approach the conversations with a focus on the business first, and the tech second.

And that means taking everything into consideration with a focus on customer value. Every digital initiative should have a clear line to the customer experience, operational efficiency, or your competitive advantage.
Being the bearer of both solutions and reality is really rewarding. Great digital-leadership partnerships thrive on honest conversations. It’s good to share the opportunities, as well as the trade-offs, the timelines, and the genuine risks. Trust is built on accuracy, not optimism.
The best technology decisions consider budget cycles, market timing, regulatory changes, and team capacity. So key to working with businesses is to think holistically. Learning as much as I can about a business is probably my favourite part of the opening conversations! Curiosity has always paid off in this respect. 😉
The magic happens when technology stops being a mysterious black box and starts being a clear enabler of business strategy. That’s when I stop being the person who “handles the digital stuff” and become the person who “makes the business possible.”
It’s a great place to be when I work with business owners who absolutely need to understand how technology drives their business forward. Because being part of that motivates me the most. hashtag#DigitalStrategy hashtag#BusinessPartnership hashtag#ExecutiveLeadership
